The new Tip Pool Distribution feature allows managers to easily distribute and track their employees’ tips using a customizable number of tip sources as well as a weighted points system.
Tip points are used to weight the total tips that each employee will receive. The total tips distributed to each employee are based on the hours they work and the tip points they are assigned.
In order to begin using this feature, you must first indicate which employees are tipped.
To do this, visit the “Team Members” section of TeamLive and select an employee who is eligible to receive tips. Under the ‘Wages’ tab, you will find a new field called ‘Tip Points.’
Select the blue marker icon to open the rate code editor. From here, you will have to option to edit the employee’s tip points.
There are many possible setups for using tip points to weight tips based on employee position or skill level. We recommend establishing your own system for tip points in order to keep track of the distribution of tips between your staff. If you do not use tip points for weighting you must still enter a “1” to indicate if an employee is tipped and leave your untipped employees with “0”.
After entering the tip points for the employee, make sure to set the ‘Is Tipped’ field to ‘Yes’ before continuing to edit the tip points for other employees.
If you decide to use the Tip Points service, please note that the setting under TeamHub labeled ‘Require employees to declare tips upcon clocking out’ under TeamHub will automatically be switched off.
*If you would like to activate Tip Pool Points, please contact your Customer Success Manager or contact Harri Support and ask them to enable this service for you. Additional charges may apply.
